Just last year, Chris realized he wanted to take his rap career more serious. His rap influences are Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Wayne and of course Wiz Khalifa. In high school, he was known as the skilled football player at Olive Branch High School. In March 2018, he signed to 1017 Brick Squad Mafia/Mafia Gang after doing a sit-down interview with OG Mac Drama. The two began to build a dynamic relationship. It wasn’t long before Chris was in the studio working on new music. He teamed up with Memphis producer HotRod to create the sound for the single, “GahDamn”. The single is available now on all digital platforms. The song is self explanatory. Everyone finds themselves yelling, “GahDamn!” On a daily basis! The rapper recently did a radio interview with Cypher City Radio and is set to appear on Lyric Breakdown. He also released a mixtape, “Magnolia Owens” which can be streamed and downloaded from Spinrilla. This rapper has no plans of slowing down. Chris Owens is a newcomer you should keep your eyes on! TPG/The Purpose Girlz are a homegrown product of the 229 (Leesburg, Ga.). Three young inspired sisters (14, 14, & 13), are on a mission to make an impact on the youth through music. With the lack of kids making music for kids, the youth listen to adult music, made by adults for adults. TPG is here to provide that music.
At an early age, the three expressed their love for music and performing from singing at church events and award programs. Along the way, their attraction to the music brought about the countless covers of their favorite artists in hip hop's hit songs. On occasions, they've create their own songs. Typical little girls, growing up and having fun, creating their own music wasn't something they strived for because it seemed impossible. January 2, 2016, tragedy struck. The mother of the younger two girls, was murdered by their stepdad in their presence. Now in the custody of their father, the healing process began. Counseling, temporarily mended the wounds. The loss brought the girls closer together and after a few freestyles on Facebook live, T.P.G. was born. Music became one of the ways to deal with the pain and at the same time they felt that, it's about time some music was made for kids by kids. Studying the work of the top artists in hip hop, they began writing songs to touch on things the youth can relate to, as well as to show adults that kids can make good music too. Months later, here they are. The newest addition to the hip hop world. With the help of their father, manager, and a few others they're preparing songs for a long awaited EP, just for the kids titled 'The Purpose'. If you're looking for music your kids can relate to or you're in need for that nice southern rap with substance, The Purpose Girlz are here! Why are we allowing our kids to listen to music made by adults for adults? Who is making music for our kids that's positive?
