Newark, New Jersey native Profit, born David Garcia, learned early that nothing in life comes without struggle, and his struggles provide the basis for his artistic expression—rapping. Born September 23, 1986, Profit watched his single mother work hard to provide the best she could for him and his younger brother. When Profit was ten his mother moved the family to Tifton, Georgia—a drastic change from the Newark cityscape. However, small-town Tifton left Profit with some ambivalence. At the age of twelve he met his “brothers from another mother,”Jermaine and Jamal Miller, and together they tapped into their musical talents. The influences of their music came from Pastor Troy, No Limit Soldiers and Cash Money; although Profit feels that the emergence of T.I. greatly influenced him musically. “When T.I.P. came out that was the best rapper alive to me...I wasn’t trying to be a swagger-jacker, but if there was anybody that I idolized it would have to be T.I.” Meeting the boys was the highlight of Profit’s Tifton experience as the three, along with Profit’s younger brother, began to rap. After the creation of the foursome, however, troubles soon followed in Profit’s personal life. He was eventually expelled from Tift County High School leaving him no choice but to return to New Jersey in 2004 at the age of 18. “I was considered a trouble maker, always getting in trouble in school and getting in trouble at home, but I just thought I was misunderstood.” The feelings of being misunderstood followed him back to Jersey as he searched for a stable living situation. He was often displaced and shifting between the homes of his relatives—until he would get kicked out. Just when things seemed as though they could not get any worse, a much-needed opportunity arose. One of Profit’s friends was attending Essex County College and told the basketball coach about Profit’s situation, and the coach offered a proposal: if he made the basketball team, he could stay in the dorms. “With God’s grace I made the team.” Everything was beginning to look up, but the troubles continued as he was forced to leave school after two semesters due to grades. The father of two girls eventually moved back to Georgia with a new prospective and a new dream, determined to make it rapping. As Profit’s music continues to remain self-spoken and meaningful, his supporters continue to grow. Reaching from the hoods in New Jersey to Tifton, Georgia, Even Over to asia, he is making his name known through various showcases and performances. Willing to take his negatives in life and create positives with them, he is ready to work just as hard in music as he has in life to make a way, while still keeping his priorities intact. “I have my talent and my blessings, but without God none of this would matter. I am chosen not because I can rap, or not because I can write music, but I’m blessed because God has tasks for me to fulfill, and life, for me, is finding out what these tasks are. I love helping people and giving, so listen out for me.” Profit who has now changed the spelling of his name: Prophit ! Which he gives both meanings has took his music career to new depths dropping his first video and Single " Sacrifices " will soon seen and heard world wide as he continues to rise.

Rapper OG Sweetz and hip-hop legend Willie D (of the Geto Boys) connect on for a politically charged warning for racists feeling empowered by the current political leadership; “Don’t let the Goverdent Get Your A** Kicked.” Goverdent, a politically charged track produced by southern hitmaker Cory Mo, features OG Sweetz and Willie D exchanging gritty bars over an ominous yet memorable beat.
“The song is inspired by the countless videos I’ve seen over this year on social media of people feeling empowered to harass minorities and other (perceived) vulnerable people with rhetoric and actions rooted in racism and ignorant prejudices,” OG Sweetz explains.
“Willie D was the only fit for this record in my opinion,” Sweetz explains. “I’ve always been a fan of his music and the boldness that he speaks with on political issues that affect our communities.” Over the last few years, Willie D has become more vocal about the deteriorating political climate, using his social media and other communication channels to share his thoughts. Two months ago, his YouTube channel (where he shares his commentary) was deleted for violating community guidelines. The hip-hop legend hosted a press conference to condemn Google for censorship.
