LONDON, UK – When words just don’t seem enough to express to the one you love just how deeply you feel for them, music sometimes says exactly what you need it to. This is something Sean Doohan has known for most of his life – first as a lover of music and then as a professional artist. And it’s that philosophy of love and music that permeates his newest album, “Locked Inside Your Love,” which he released on his label A.C.E. in October of this year. There are people all over the globe making music, but the thing that truly sets them apart is the passion and dedication that goes into their art. Sean Doohan aka Mr. Dubz is certainly one of those passionate creators. “Locked Inside Your Love, is my debut R&B/ Hip-Hop album. It sounds both futuristic and classic. It develops scenes and has many elements from different genres. It’s unique, original, progressive, emotional, romantic, powerful, heart-warming, positive and soulful. Each song is deeply personal, yet I believe they still make that heartfelt connection with the listener that they can relate to. The theme that runs through it is love – it's my first solo love-song collection. The common message through the album is that love is the most important thing in life. It must be focused on, nurtured, protected, searched for, deserved, taken seriously, given time, effort, attention, devotion and inspire us to tell and show someone how we feel in all the ways we can.” said the musician who hails from England and whose music has been so well-received it’s beginning to make a splash in the U.S. Sean said he knows how music has helped him express how he feels to others in the past, and he hopes his music will help others to do the same. Take his single “Love Sick,” for instance. It’s an honest and romantic love song with a slow, chilled out pace. It’s a colorful, soulful tune with a West Coast flavor laced and an East Coast pop soul. “There were some massive things going on in my life when I wrote the lyrics to that song,” Sean said. “It was a really important, moving and beautiful time for me.” Five of the singles from the album are currently available to listen to on Sean Doohan’s Soundcloud page. The entire album is available to purchase on iTunes, Amazon music or 4music. He’s now in the process of creating music videos for his singles and working on more music. Until those videos are released to the world, he said he hopes fans will listen to his music and understand that he’s a one-of-a-kind artist who’s just trying to be himself and be the best he can be. “I’m not one dimensional or a sound-alike,” he said. “I have many different musical styles, produce, rap, sing, remix and DJ. When people hear my music I want them to get that special feeling that you get when you listen to great music – that chill … that clarity … that connection. That thing that frees your soul, opens your mind, makes you want to move your body and lifts your spirits.”

BROOKLYN, NY – The older Brice Djomo gets, the more the music of his home country of Cameroon finds its way into his music. Known within the hip-hop world as Vocaliz, this 30-year-old artist from Brooklyn has a sound that’s reminiscent of Wyclef Jean, but with a style that is uniquely his own. And though his instrumentals create a story in and of themselves, it’s his voice that truly makes an impression on his fans. “That’s where my name came from,” he said. “I don’t play any musical instrument, so my voice is all I ever had to create music. My voice is my only instrument. I love rapping, but I also love trying different things, new tricks with my voice. Wyclef was a big inspiration for that – to me he’s not your typical singer, but he can make great singing songs. That’s hard to do. He’s a musical genius – a hip-hop artist who can make an entire album and not rap on a single song and still connect musically with Rap fans. I like musicians like that who aren’t afraid to take different routes, when people don’t really know what to expect from you. I feel like as musicians, repetition/stagnation is to be avoided. Evolution is the only true expression of music, even though most of the time the same formula is expected and even demanded.” His newest single, “History,” will showcase not only that surprising quality of his songwriting ability, but will also chronicle some of this journey that he’s taken to make it to this point as an artist. It’s a song, he said, that highlights every individual’s unique journey and how those things create who we are as human beings. “The concept behind the song is simply to show that we are the result of our past experiences and what we’ve learned from them,” he said. “As time goes on as people we grow, and through that growing process we naturally eliminate what doesn’t fit our current lifestyle and vision and embrace what does. That also involves leaving a lot of people behind even though we did share a lot of beautiful memories with them. At the end of the day If I keep evolving and they don’t, how can we still be on the same page?” The music video for the single, which can be found on YouTube, further highlights this concept. Following Vocaliz through the streets of New York City as he contemplates on the nature of his own thoughts. The video was remarkably shot by Director Gambino and is sure to entice even more fans to follow this already rising artist. And those fans come from all over the world – from his home country in Central Africa, to others spread across the Mediterranean, and on to fans in the States who have followed his career on the road performing in hundreds of basement joints along the coast. Fans who want to sample more of his music can follow him on social media on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to find out more about upcoming music releases or live performances. Making Moves and Getting the Club Moving, “Slide Out” is Bound to be the Latest Club Hit Orlando, FL – Video is a performer that turns heads. A Florida native, the artist was raised with music in his bones. His mother and aunt, two talented gospel singers, set a heavy influence and so music was inevitable for Video, who finally decided to “entertain his calling” and pursue music as a career. Video is no stranger to the art of writing, and began putting pen to paper at a young age. A published author of three books, the musician’s background in writing has helped him craft his musical writing style. The artist, influenced by the smooth musical prowess of Usher, is motivated by the concept of unifying genres and listeners by prompting everyone to dance and enjoy his music – no matter their demographic. Says Video of Usher, “He connects with the people, and continues to stay relevant by connecting with more than one genre.” Video’s exceptional ability to span genre and sound allow him to enter the ears of all kinds of listeners, and his music often makes the jump from fun and edgy to dark and disturbing – offering something for everyone. One song off his latest project Momentum entitled “SlideOut” is a club hit for people to dance to. A connoisseur of fun, the artist wrote the single (which appears on his newest album, Momentum) to inspire everyone in and out of the club to “have fun,” which is Video’s primary M.O. The song accompanies a dance move, which is simple and embodies “old school partying – it’s simple and catchy,” laughs Video. The song is exciting and lively, and has an EDM edge, which gives it a wide reach for listeners of all backgrounds and musical persuasions. The straightforward, fun-loving artist’s main mission is to connect with others – to make music that inspires and reaches them. “To connect with fans, you have to be honest,” explains Video, “You don’t just sell your music. You sell your Brand, your character and your lifestyle.” To learn more about Video, visit his website: http://www.video4-0.com Or follow along on social media: YouTube STABLE pays homage to a Holiday Christmas-classic originally performed by Donny Hathaway with "This Christmas" produced by Beats How U Want Em's own Raphael RJ2 on the track and the smooth vocals of NYC's Soul Singer Deacon. Their songs tend to mirror those dreams – lyrics laced with descriptions of expensive cars, parties on yachts and hundred dollar bills. But when Giulio4 raps about those things, it isn’t out of a desire for dreams unattained – he’s rapping about a lifestyle he’s enjoyed after years of hard work have led to multiple successful businesses and rewards for a life of perseverance. His newest mixtape, “Unreasonable Doubt2,” is a testament to that journey. “It’s a project that provides a journey laced with unprofaned lyrics and unprecedented beats that challenge some of the top billboard artists today,” Giulio4 said. “All my music is authentic. I’m not making up a bunch of stuff I haven’t done, or making up things that I haven’t lived. The things I rap about are all things I’ve done. My name is my name out here. My reputation is solid. My lyrical ability is not your common southerner. The content is deeper and it shows different facets and varieties of the kind of music I can make.” Giulio4 said “Unreasonable Doubt2” features 17 songs, with one outro. The majority of the songs are originals from him, with a couple of remixes thrown in for good measure. There are also a couple of songs that feature other artists including, JohnniCinco, Pope and Skooly (from 2Chains). “I explore a lot of different music styles with this mixtape,” Giulio4 said. “Previously my music has just been about rap, but with this one I do more singing and play with some vocal sounds in production. You can hear me trying out different varieties to see what might fit. I explore a lot on this album.” That’s a strategy that has worked for him in more ways than just through music. Giulio4 is a successful businessman because he’s willing to explore different money-making options and to take calculated risks. His previous business was renting exotic cars in South Florida, though he has since sold his portion of that business. He also currently has a business called Alkene Enterprises in which he specializes in Bitcoin trading. He said the secret to his success isn’t some magic pill or lucky star – it’s the result of hard work and perseverance. And it’s a tale he wants to share with listeners of his music so that he can inspire others to reach for their dreams, as well. “I make music more or less to motivate people,” he said. “I want to encourage people to get into new areas of life. Don’t limit yourself. I came from nothing, and if I can do it, anybody can do it. You just have to have ambition and be patient. If nothing else, my music can be a motivational tool for people to get them back on track for their ambitions.” Fans who want to check out “Unreasonable Doubt2” can do so on LiveMixTapes.com, or on WorldStar. OCEAN COUNTY, N.J. – It’s rare to find a 14-year-old with enough talent that he already has years of success under his belt in the entertainment industry. But that’s exactly what Hunter James brings to the table as he prepares to release his debut EP on Jan. 7. James is a fresh and young hip-hop artist out of New Jersey who already has thousands of Twitter followers and tens of thousands of viewers on YouTube thanks to a successful YouTube channel called “Hunter Vlogs TV” that he’s parlayed into a successful career over the past two years. “It’s a channel that does a lot of funny skits and challenges, but I’ve been slowly transitioning into making it more of a music channel,” James said. “I’ve always loved music my whole life, but it wasn’t until I started messing around with some beats in FL Studio one day that I really got hooked. Eventually I started to rap and I really fell in love with that. I listen to rap music because I like the vibe and sounds, but I really love a good rap song that has a story in its lyrics.” James said he recognizes how hard it is for a young person to break into the music industry and have a long-lasting, successful career. But he hopes that he’ll be able to break the mold, so-to-speak, and use his existing fanbase as a foundation for growing that musical career into something far-reaching. “I know I’m young, but I want to show people that no matter how young you are you can create music that people will like,” he said. “I’m trying to inspire other kids and let them know that they don’t have to wait until they’re grown up to do something big. People will take you seriously no matter how young you are if your music is good enough.” James describes his music as a “laid-back, relaxed style with rapping in it.” He produces his own beats and usually uses the instrumentation to inspire the lyrics. His EP, which will be called “HJ,” will feature five songs that will display his variety as an artist. The first single, “Cold World,” features acoustic guitar with “raspy singing combined with rap.” “It’s a song that says no matter what happens in the world – no matter what happens to you every day – it’ll all work out,” James said. “The sun comes around after the rain.” The second single is called “Alone,” and James said it’s a song that starts off sad but builds to a happy resolution. “It’s a song that tells the story of an old man who has never really loved anyone,” James said. “He’s 70 years old and he’s been alone his whole life. He’s trying to win the lottery so that someone will love him, thinking that if he has a fortune they’ll love him. Toward the end a girl finds him without knowledge of any kind of financial fortune, and they fall in love. I try to make all my music tell a story like that, because I want my music to have a meaning and be engaging.” Recently he was able to perform live at The Bitter End to a sold-out show in New York City. It was his first live performance, and the experience is one that he said was indescribable. It was a moment that he knows will live in his memory forever, and which has served as an inspiration to work harder and create more music so that he can re-live many more of those moments over the years. Fans who want to find out more about his music releases or future live performances can follow Hunter James on social media on Twitter and Instagram. And fans who want to sample his music can visit his YouTube channel. AUSTIN, TX – Trae Mitchell – AKA Trae Boy the Prime Minister – never thought he’d have a career in music. In fact, it wasn’t until his best friend introduced him to the music-making side of life in 2000 that he even started exploring with his natural talent as a musician. “Back in the day we would freestyle in the high school lunch room or in the hallways,” he said. “Me and my friend grew up together in neighborhoods located in north Dallas, and it seemed like everyone in those neighborhoods were making music and spreading word around the city.” For the most part their music was just something fun to do together. But when that friend was killed while serving time in a penitentiary, Trae Boy made a commitment to pursue music with a passion and live up to the expectations set by his late friend. Today – 16 years later – Trae Boy continues to pursue music with a passion. His most recent single, “Whole Lotta,” has received quite a bit of air play on radio stations, and fans all over the country are beginning to discover his unique sound and ability. “Whatever you want to do in life, you can do it,” Trae Boy said. “Don’t give up on your dreams. I’m 30 and I still dream and I’m still trying to pursue the dream that me and my best friend would always talk about.” The single is one that Trae Boy describes as a club song that just lets the listener “feel good.” “It’s nothing much more than a song to have a good time with,” he said. “I’m inspired by Three-Six Mafia, and that kind of served as the inspiration for this song. Ultimately it’s just a song to drink and smoke and have fun with.” The single was followed up with a new album called “All Profits,” which Trae Boy released in October of this year. The album features 14 songs, and the release was hosted by DJ Genius out of Atlanta, Georgia. The album features most of his originals, with some features from other hip-hop artists that he’s worked with over the years. Trae Boy operates as part of an indie rap label called 635 Entertainment – based out of Dallas, Texas. He first gained notoriety in 2009 when he was featured on a number of indie mixtapes. In 2010 he was featured on DJ Young Cee’s mixtape “Turfwarz Vol. 4,” which gained him even more exposure nationwide. Over the past five years he has traveled all over the U.S. promoting his music and making a name for himself. Datpiff YouTube Portland, OR – Artist Mic Mar had a unique beginning to his flourishing music career. Tempted by friends to collaborate on a song, the now 25-year-old artist discovered he had a knack for the art of the rhyme at 17-years-old. His competitive spirit, can-do attitude, and innate sense of creativity led him to discover that music could become something more than just a hobby – and instead, be a lifelong career and passion. A big believer in fate and destiny, Mic Mar abides by the philosophy, “Life’s too short to not do what you want to do.” The young artist finds influence in fellow rapper and Pacific Northwest native, Macklemore. The two artists share a zest for the rap game in cities that are heavily saturated with rock and alternative music and a gift for storytelling and seeing meaning in everything. An avid storyteller, Mic Mar’s music is deep, uplifting, and inspirational. His music is a reflection of his perspectives on struggle, which makes his audience vast, as everyone can relate on some level. His “young lit hippy” brand and persona emit vibes of “peace, love and good vibes,” laughs Mar. The imaginative rapper recently debuted his latest video, a song entitled “Good Morning,” on November 23rd, which teases the release of his impending mixtape, Kidz From The Woodz, which hits digital platforms on January 31st, 2017. The song “Good Morning” is, as the artist describes, “an awakening.” An introduction into who the young lit hippy really is, the song is about sharing your truth, which is exactly what Mic Mar is out to do. SoundCloud http://www.younglithippy.com/ Houston, TX – Longtime friends turned business and musical partners Royale King and Young Papi met by happenstance, when Young Papi’s late mother decided he needed positive influences in his life and introduced him to Royale King. The two were fast friends, and though Young Papi was the young age of twelve when they first met, Royale King helped Papi come into his own as an artist and man. Two years ago, friendship gave way to “Kushmerica,” and the two “Kush Bosses” embarked on their own musical journey. “The energy we bring is just ridiculous – The more songs we were doing, the more people were like referring to us as the new red man and method man,” explains Royale. Adds Papi, “One show was so crazy, the crowd literally tore our shirts off us.” Their sound is an eclectic mix of 90’s rap with a modern spin, which comes organically from their age difference. “You have the more mature older brother, that will get that mature crowd, and then you’ve got the younger brother that’s a little wild and just goes and does his thing,” Their newest project, an album entitled Election Year, is distinctive and authentic. Chalk full of songs that speak to real life, Royale King describes the songwriting as “based in reality,” and “street perspective, because that’s the place we were raised in.” The concept behind Election Year (ironically released on 4/20, as an homage to their “Kushmerica” brand) was to shed light on the political disparity over the use of marijuana in America. “Right now, there are 23 states that allow recreational marijuana use. Part of our campaign is to get all 50 states to legalize, and to show how it helps,” the duo explains. In addition to the Mary Jane-infused lyrics, listeners can expect to hear other themes and stories, including the lamenting of poverty and the struggles of the streets. “It doesn’t sound like anything that’s out right now,” says Royale, “and that’s refreshing. It’s very original.” Instagram: @kushmerica Twitter: @Kushmericans Youtube |
